This year, a number of Year 13 pupils are participating in a project run by Habitat for Humanity called Change Makers. The 12 pupils involved in the project benefit from 2 school-based workshops exploring how they can make positive changes to society both locally and globally. On 25 November, some of our Year 12 pupils attended a talk from Fresh Minds Education about the prevention of suicide. The pupils were taught about the Connect-4-Ways Model, looking at recognising signs, naming the issue of suicide, listening to or sharing their story and signposting or accessing services to provide safety. The SistersIN Leadership Programme is an 8-month development journey for sixth form girls to help build their confidence and broaden their career perspectives. Belfast High School has been awarded Gold by UNICEF’s Rights Respecting School programme, having received the Silver Award in 2024 and the Bronze Award in 2023. This award recognises our commitment to promoting and realising children’s rights and encouraging adults, children and young people to respect the rights of others, in school and beyond, by putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of the School’s planning, policies and practice.

Our annual Prize Distribution was held on Wednesday 10 September.
