During the Easter break, Year 13 pupil Will McIlveen travelled to Selwyn College, University of Cambridge, to take part in an ‘exploring law’ conference. The participants had the opportunity to tour the Law Faculty and the other Colleges, attend lectures on constitutional, land, roman, tort and criminal law, and take part in a law firm workshop presented by Prof Markus Gehring. On the final day of the conference the participants heard from Lord Lloyd-Jones, Supreme Court Justice, who gave an in-depth breakdown of our Supreme Court and explained his role as a Justice. Will had the opportunity to ask Lord Lloyd-Jones about his views on the flexibility on interpreting legislation in Parliament to give effect to international law.
