Congratulations to Year 12 pupil Emma Papaconstantinou on her selection for the UNICEF Youth Advisory Board. The Youth Advisory Board is a group of 8 young people aged 14-18 from across the UK and their role is to be a voice on children’s rights, provide insight about what matters to children and young people and raise awareness to help other young people understand UNICEF’s work. Emma was selected following a thorough application process including an interview with former Board members and UNICEF staff. She was selected for the role from over 200 applicants and is currently the only member from Northern Ireland.  Emma travelled to the UNICEF UK headquarters as part of the onboarding process where she met members of the new Youth Advisory Board as well as the outgoing Board, including former pupil Ruby Campbell. Over the weekend Emma took part in training and team building activities and heard from former Board members about their experience as well their advice as part of the handover. We wish Emma every success for the next 2 years as she uses the Youth Advisory Board platform to raise awareness and be a voice for the challenges young people face today.
