First Tech Challenge

Congratulations to our FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics team who competed at the Northern Ireland qualifying tournament on Wednesday 25 March. FIRST Tech Challenge is a global competitions where pupils become innovators, engineers and problem-solvers. Working in teams, they design, build and program robots to take on fast-paced, sports-style challenges, developing real-world STEM skills, teamwork and resilience – but also having a lot of fun! Our team received the Innovate Award which is awarded to the team that thinks imaginatively and has the ingenuity, creativity, and inventiveness to make their designs come to life. Along with Foyle Roboclub, they also formed the Finalist Alliance. We would like to thank our mentor Mr Phil Dorman, from Sensata Technologies, and also our team sponsor, Mr Paul Coulter of Yew Tree Solutions for their help this season.
