Every year, young people who complete their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award are invited to mark their achievement at special garden parties held at Buckingham Palace. This year’s event held added significance, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the DofE Award. A Gold DofE Award is a major achievement – young people spend at least 12 months honing new skills and talents, planning and completing an expedition and residential, and volunteering for a cause they are passionate about. Congratulations to former pupils Rebecca Bell and Ben Wheeler who were presented with their Gold Awards at the Palace on Thursday 21 May.
