Andrew Jobbings Senior Kangaroo Competition
We are delighted to share the outstanding success of Year 13 pupil Daniel Wilson who has achieved remarkable recognition in the prestigious UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge. This national competition, organised by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT), attracts thousands of entries from students across the country, testing their problem-solving skills, logical reasoning and mathematical creativity. Following his success in the Senior Challenge, Daniel qualified for the Andrew Jobbings Senior Kangaroo competition, an invitation-only round designed for the highest achievers based on their qualifying Senior Maths Challenge score. It is a 60-minute, 20 question ‘integer answer’ challenge, known for its challenging and thought-provoking problems, requiring pupils to apply their mathematical knowledge in innovative ways. The top scoring 10% of participants receive a Gold Kangaroo Certificate, the next 20% a Silver Kangaroo Certificate and the next 30% a Bronze Kangaroo Certificate. This stage is known for its challenging and thought-provoking problems, requiring pupils to apply their mathematical knowledge in innovative ways. Daniel achieved Gold, placing him in the top 10% of all qualifying pupils nationally.
Congratulations Daniel - to progress through both stages and earn Gold is a testament to your dedication and mathematical agility!
