As part of the Gold Level of the Co-operation Ireland Future Leaders Peace Award, 5 Year 14 pupils (Grace Conway, Daniel Gallagher, Aimée Green, Niamh Keenan and Sophia McGrand) will be participating in development opportunities with other young people from across the island of Ireland throughout the course of this academic year. This has included a social action project designed to bring awareness to issues faced by blind and deaf young people in the UK and Ireland which was presented to the Dail and to Stormont. The group has participated in residentials to develop their leadership skills and strengthen cross community relationships. Most recently, they completed their ‘World of Work’ residential in London from 19-22 November, which involved 2 days of work experience in the Morgan Stanley offices in Canary Wharf. They had the opportunity to meet and engage with employees, tour the trading floor, meet with Martin Fraser (Irish Ambassador to the UK), and curate a presentation to be delivered to Morgan Stanley employees.
