CURRICULUM
Key Stage 3
Pupils follow the Northern Ireland PE curriculum, developing skills in athletics, games, dance and gymnastics. Lessons focus on improving physical competence, promoting healthy lifestyles, and fostering positive attitudes through the key elements of personal understanding, mutual understanding, and health and well-being.
GCSE
At GCSE, pupils follow the EDUQAS Physical Education specification. Pupils explore anatomy and physiology, health and performance, and socio-cultural influences. Assessment includes a written exam (60%), practical performance in three activities (30%) and a Personal Exercise Programme (10%).
A Level
At A Level, pupils follow the WJEC Physical Education specification. Topics include exercise physiology, biomechanics, skill acquisition and sport psychology. Assessment consists of written exams (AS 24%, A2 36%) and practical performance with analysis (AS 16%, A2 24%).
Co-curricular Activities
Pupils have opportunities to represent the School in competitive sport and engage in recreational activities that support their development. Leadership roles, workshops, and school-club links further enhance their physical and personal growth.
