Belfast High School is a co-educational, voluntary grammar school founded in 1854 with a current enrolment of 968 pupils.

 

About the Departments

The History Department consists of 4 subject specialists including a Head of Department. The School follows the CCEA specification for GCSE and A Level History. 

The Music and Performing Arts Department consists of 3 subject specialists including a Head of Department. The School follows the CCEA specification for GCSE Drama and the AQA specification for A Level Drama and Theatre Studies.

 

Main Responsibilities

The Board of Governors is seeking to appoint a part-time (80%) temporary Teacher of History and Drama from September 2026.  The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, well-qualified teacher, committed to enabling pupils to realise their highest academic potential.  They will be an excellent classroom practitioner who will convey an enthusiasm for the subject to the pupils they teach.
