VACANCIES

Applications are invited for the following post, commencing September 2026:

Teacher of Home Economics (full-time permanent post)

Closing date for receipt of applications: 12.00 noon, Thursday 19 February 2026.

The selection process is scheduled to take place on Monday 23 February 2026.

 

General Information

Belfast High School is a co-educational, voluntary grammar school founded in 1854 with a current enrolment of 968 pupils.

 

About the Department

The Home Economics Department consists of 3 subject specialists including a Head of Department. In addition, one member of staff assists with the teaching of Home Economics at Key Stage 3.  The School follows the CCEA specification for GCSE Food and Nutrition and Child Development and A Level Nutrition and Food Science and Health and Social Care.

 

Main Responsibilities

The Board of Governors is seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Teacher of Home Economics from September 2026.  The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, well-qualified teacher, committed to enabling pupils to realise their highest academic potential.  They will be an excellent classroom practitioner who will convey an enthusiasm for the subject to the pupils they teach.
