Careers provision at the School aims to support pupils to identify and develop the skills they need for their future career choices and to explore opportunities which lie beyond their time in school.

At Key Stage 3 we allow pupils to explore what their key skills and interests are, encouraging them to build a skills and experience profile. Pupils learn about various career fields to allow them to think about what career paths might suit them. This helps them make informed decisions about their GCSE options and enables them to build up a record of the activities and experiences they have had in Key Stage 3.

At Key Stage 4 pupils explore other career options, including a more in-depth understanding of self-employment and working in the charity sector. We support pupils to make informed decisions about what they can do after their GCSEs, including A Level study, apprenticeships and further education. Year 12 pupils are offered a one-to-one careers advice session with a representative from the Northern Ireland Careers Service.

At Key Stage 5, pupils select a subject area they might want to pursue after school. We then organise talks and workshops in these groups, allowing pupils to delve deeper into their areas of interest. Pupils are encouraged to look into wider opportunities such as gap years and studying abroad. There is also an opportunity to engage in work experience in Year 13.
