CURRICULUM
GCSE
At GCSE level, pupils studying Business Studies with the CCEA exam board explore how businesses start, grow and operate in a competitive environment. They learn about entrepreneurship, marketing, finance and human resources, while also developing analytical and decision-making skills. The course encourages pupils to apply their knowledge to real-world business scenarios and current events.
A Level
At A Level, pupils follow the CCEA Business Studies specification. Pupils delve deeper into how businesses operate and make strategic decisions. They explore topics such as leadership styles, organisational structure, financial planning and market analysis. The course sharpens their ability to interpret data, evaluate business performance and understand the impact of external influences on business success. At A2 level, pupils examine more complex business concepts such as strategic decision-making, economics, investment appraisal and globalisation. They analyse how businesses respond to change, manage risk and pursue growth in dynamic markets.
Co-curricular Activities
The Young Enterprise Company Programme gives Sixth Form students the chance to set up and run their own real business. Working as a team, they develop a product or service, manage finances and sell to the public. It’s a great opportunity to build confidence, creativity and leadership skills while gaining hands-on experience of the business world.
