Belfast High School Uniform

Full school uniform must be worn to and from School and at School functions as required. Pupils are reminded that they represent the School at all times when they wear school uniform and a high standard of neatness and behaviour is required. Extremes of style, colour or length of hair will not be accepted (eg anything shorter than a ‘number 2’ will result in a boy being sent home).

In the event of any dispute the Principal will be the final arbiter of what is acceptable.

School Uniform - Girls

Blazer	Royal blue with school crest on pocket.
Blouse	White long sleeved. In Summer Term a white short sleeved open-necked blouse (not aertex) may be worn.
Tie	Regulation with HOUSE COLOUR.
Pullover	Regulation grey with school colours on neck band (not dark grey).
Skirt	Regulation grey pleated (at least knee length). No elasticated waists.
Coat	NAVY BLUE OR DARK BLUE coat or anorak.
Shoes	BLACK SHOES (no suede or patent). Maximum heel height no more than 2”. No stiletto heels.
Scarf	Regulation woollen or woven.
Socks	Grey knee-length socks with blue and gold bands. In winter weather black (40 denier) tights may be worn (no patterned tights). JUNIOR FORMS ONLY – white ankle socks in Summer Term.
Jewellery	Only a wrist watch, plain signet ring and small plain earstuds (one per ear) may be worn.
PE	Regulation school track suit, shorts, school polo shirt, white socks, training shoes with non-marking soles (no baseball boots allowed).
Hockey	Regulation school track suit, royal blue skirt, school polo shirt, white knee length socks (with blue bands), shin guards, mouth guard, hockey stick.
Hairbands	Only plain navy or black hairbands may be worn.

SCHOOL UNIFORM - BOYS

Blazer	Regulation dark navy with school crest on pocket. (Royal blue Honours blazers may only be worn by boys who are entitled to wear them).
Shirt	White only.
Tie	Regulation with HOUSE COLOUR.
Pullover	Regulation grey with school colours on neck band.
Trousers	Black school.
Coat	NAVY BLUE OR DARK BLUE coat or anorak.
Shoes	Black shoes only (no suede or patent). Track shoes are not acceptable. No boots.
Scarf	Regulation woollen or woven.
Socks	Dark grey or black socks.
Jewellery	Boys are NOT PERMITTED to wear earstuds or earrings. Only a wrist watch and a plain signet ring may be worn.
PE	School T-shirt, white shorts and white socks. Training shoes with non-marking soles. Regulation school track suit.
Rugby	Reversible rugby jersey, white shorts, regulation socks, mouth guard, rugby/football boots (studs – not blades).
