Key Stage 3
All pupils in years 8 and 9 follow the programme of study specified by the Department of Education for Northern Ireland. Classes are timetabled for 2 periods per week each year.
Technology is an optional subject in year 10, where those choosing to study it have 3 periods per week.
The content and approach for the activities in Technology are :-
| Designing | : | Pupils are taught to investigate, generate and evaluate design proposals. |
| Communicating | : | Pupils will use a variety of communication skills and techniques including oral, written and graphical. |
| Manufacturing | : | Pupils will develop skills and knowledge associated with particular materials. They will use hand and machine tools in the manufacture of different products. |
| Using Energy | : | Pupils will investigate and build control and Control systems and incorporate them, as appropriate, into products. The control systems are :- a) Electronic b) Mechanical c) Pneumatic d) Computer / Microprocessor |
