Bible Buns
This is a traditional recipe. You have to find out what each of the ingredients is by looking up the reference in the Bible (RSV).
Recipe
You will need
115g of 1Kings 4:22 (self-raising)
75g of Psalm 55:21
75g of Jeremiah 6:20 (caster)
150g of 1 Samuel 30:12
10g of Numbers 17:8 (ground or chopped)
1 teaspoon of Samuel 14:25
1 teaspoon of 2 Chronicles 9:9 (mixed)
1 Luke 11:12 (beaten)
60 ml of 1 Corinthians 3:2
a pinch of Matthew 5:13
1 flat teaspoon of baking-powder
2 bowls
a fork
several spoons
a measuring-jug
a cup to beat the egg in
bun-tins
about 15 paper cake cases
a cocktail stick
Method
Set the oven to gas mark 5/220°C (425°F)
1 Mix the flour, baking-powder, salt, spice and almonds in a bowl.
2 In another bowl cream together the sugar and butter then mix in the honey and egg.
3 Mix the dry ingredients with the others.
4 Add enough milk to make a soft mixture.
5 Stir in the raisins.
6 Put cake cases in bun-tins and place a spoonful of the mixture in each.
7 Bake for 10-15 minutes. When cooked the cakes should be nicely brown and a cocktail stick should come out clean when pushed into the centre.
