Exam Success

Pupils receiving their results at both A Level and GCSE this year had good reason to be delighted with their first class performance.

While the School has won specialist awards in the areas of science and languages, in every subject in the school, pupils performed higher than theNorthern Ireland Grammar School average. Remarkably not one pupil has failed an A Level subject at Belfast High School in thelast 5 years. More impressively, the 85% grades A-C pass rate at A Level means that the School has significantly outperformed all other grammar schools in the South East Antrim and North Belfast areas. GCSEresults were so good that the School very quickly filled all
available places in its Sixth Form.

These magnificent results were achieved by the sheer hardwork done by pupils and teachers as well as the great support of parents and governors.

Every single pupil in the School achieved a pass grade in GCSE Mathematics and there were 100% passes in 8 other subjects. No subject at GCSE had less than a 90% pass rate.  AS results for pupils in Year 13 were also very impressive, exceeding the achievement of last year, and suggesting that next year’s A Level results will also be outstanding.

Of course, there were many wonderful individual successes, but it would be difficult to single out a few when the real message of this year’s results is that the School does its best for all its pupils whatever their ability.

Congratulations to this year's top achievers.
