Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition
Congratulations to Clara Chivers (5Q) who won the Newtownabbey heat of the Soroptimist International Annual Youth Award Public Speaking Competition. This competition has been in operation for the past 24 years and gives girls an opportunity to improve the art of communication. Whilst encouraging participation in public life, it also allows them to develop confidence and the skills to speak effectively. Clara will now participate in the Northern Ireland Regional Final to be held on 27 February 2010 in Belfast High School.
