Home Economics
The Home Economics Department contributes to the whole school curriculum through the teaching of Home Economics to all pupils in Forms One and Two, and pupils in Form Three who choose to study the subject. Form Four pupils are offered a G.S.C.E. in Home Economics or Child Development and AS and A2 level is offered to Sixth Form pupils.
Two multi-purpose Home Economics rooms and a resource area are provided for the teaching of the subject. Equipment, books and materials are in excellent condition and in good supply.

Home economics contributes to the Cross-curricular themes by study of the issues arising from the teaching strategies covering the main areas of :-
Family Health
Diet and Health
Choice and Management of Resources
An Approach to Family Issues.

Continuity and progression is encouraged through teaching methods which stimulate and maintain interest in the subject and its application.
