Aims of Department
It is our aim that pupils will:

acquire knowledge and understanding of the past and appreciate the factors and influences that shaped it;

develop an interest in, and enthusiasm for, History;

understand that events have a multiplicity of causes that are open to interpretation and debate;

develop historical skills such as analysis of sources and critical thinking;

develop communication skills including an ability to present information, formulate arguments and reach conclusions, both orally and in writing.
