Ulster Schools' Finals

The Ulster Schools’ Finals were run at Mallusk, on Wednesday 20th February. All five High School runners give it their all on the day, showing grit and determination in trying to achieve the best place possible. Susan Burnett, a great servant to the Cross Country Club all the way through her school career, left nothing in deserve and as always, put her heart and soul into a performance of which she should be proud. Kristian Bell followed on from his performance in the Districts by finishing a fantastic 6th again out of a field of 125 runners. This result would have taken him to the Irish Finals in any of the older age groups. Kristian has already demonstrated that, with continued dedication, he has the potential to go on and excel in this sport. Sandy McDermott, Mollie Brown and Matthew Huntley will all return stronger from the experience and should remain positive in the knowledge that they qualified for the Ulster finals. Having competed well, they must now challenge themselves to push for Irish qualification next year.

Special Achievements

Congratulations to…
Kristian Bell, who represented Northern Ireland in the London Mini Marathon, following his success in the Ulster
