Sports day was held on Wednesday 30 April. The weather was cool and thankfully the rain stayed away. The events were well contested with a number of new school records being set.

SENIOR BOYS - DARYL ROONEY   SHOT    SILVER MEDAL (Q)

(Q)- QUALIFIED FOR THE IRISH FINALS.

 

IRISH SCHOOLS FINAL

DARYL ROONEY-  SHOT 5th PLACE
Daryl in his final year again qualified for the Irish final. In a very close contest for the Bronze medal he just lost out. Thank-you for all your efforts over the seven years you represented the school your efforts are appreciated by all involved in athletics at Belfast High School.

KATHY HETHERINGTON-   DISCUS- 7TH PLACE.
Kathy threw a PB of 28.50M in the Ulster final to qualify for the Irish Schools Final as Ulster Champion. In a very strong field she finished a very creditable 7th place in her first year as an Intermediate athlete in a new event. Well done on another very good schools athletics season.

Congratulations and good luck to Kathy Hetherington who has been selected for the Ulster Schools Athletics Team to compete for Ulster in the Interprovincials in June.
