An Introduction to 'A' Level English Literature at Belfast High School
Before you decide that you want take an 'A/S' Level course, you need to be sure that it will suit you and that you will benefit from it. We follow the Northern Ireland (CCEA) Board: Syllabus B; this includes an element of coursework which is researched and written independently. This course enables the following to be achieved:
the development of a critical sense, personal response and independent judgement;
an understanding of the ways in which we read, respond to and interpret texts;
knowledge of various aspects of style;
the ability to write clearly and effectively.
