'A' Level
The Chemistry department follows the AQA course for 'A' Level.
The course is designed to accomodate candidates from both Double Award and GCSE Chemistry but experience has shown that candidates should have a minimum of a Grade BB in Double Award Science or a B in GCSE Chemistry to have any real chance of success.
The course is divided into two parts:
Lower 6 - AS
Upper 6 - A2
Candidates can opt to take only the AS and concentrate on other subjects or continue to obtain a full 'A' Level.
The centre assessed component is usually completed in the second term of each year. There is also an opportunity to resit AS papers in January of the U6 year.
