All the pupils from Year 8 to 10 follow a Key Stage 3 course of study. Pupils have a double period (70minutes) of class per week. They get the chance to become involved in a wide variety of creative and expressive experiences available within Art and Design. These experiences provide pupils with unique opportunities for observing, recording, imagining, designing, creating, communicating, appreciating and evaluating.
Various projects that are completed during the year, with many fantastic and unique final pieces to take home!
Year 8PRINTMAKING- LEAVES AND CERAMAIC LEAF DISH-making rubbings, printmaking methods and ceramics.

3D LETTERS-typography, typefaces, 3D Design and construction.

COLOUR WHEEL THEORY-
looking at the basics of colour theory, primary, secondary, tertiary colours etc.

HENRI ROUSSEAU INSPIRED FELTING AND PRINTMAKING-Artists research, felt-making; process, history and origins.
SELF-PORTRAITS-Artist Research, interpreting paintings, using mixed media and adding colour/mood into a picture. |
Year 9
OBSERVATIONAL DRAWING-
Observational skills and media experimentation, while learning the fundamentals of line, tone, texture and form.
3D CERAMIC APPLE-
Ceramic skills, transforming the 2D drawings into 3D form.

CLAY ANIMALS-Further exploration into the art of ceramics, pupils get to create an animal of their choice!
ANIMAL MASKS-
Developing their understanding of 3D techniques, pupils get create a mask of their favourite animal.

VINCENT VAN GOGH-
a look into the life and art of historical painter Van Gogh. Pupils get to work on drawings inspired by his unique artistic style.
Year 10
